CLASS OF INTRODUCTION TO AMERICAN LITERATURE 2014
Every time I have to teach America Literature, I think of my students and their abilities and rethink alternative ways to make this amazing subject attractive and magic. For starters, it is not easy to get involved in history and culture not seen before. But once most of my students feel open to grasp and take command of the knowledge, it becomes an open environment of questions; sometimes challenged by diffcult readings, quick tests but best of all the, classes become an exercise in respect for cultures, a taste of a continent I wish I could once visit and best of all, the students achieve a competency in command of the language and the historical and cultural contexts.

COMMUNICATIVE LANGUAGE APPROACH IN TEACHING ENGLISH.STUDENTS LEAD THE CLASS!!
During the last years, research on education has proven that the English language can not be taught deductively, not by rules or patterns. Second language learners need to build on ideas and rethink rules inductively, that is with real life examples. There are so many strategies that help students learn grammar easily. This time I assigned topics and students´groups. Students´responsibility was to carry out their 45-minutes class inductively, assess peers´ knowledge, give the corresponding feedback and check on their´understanding.
This was a great opportunity to make my students feel responsible for their group work, roles and peers´´assessments.
Sharing ideas and working in groups enhance learning.
