2010 Poetry Contest held at Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil ESCUELA DE LENGUAS Y LINGUISTICA WON FIRST PLACE.
Brenda Gutierrez won first place in Poetry Contest held at Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil - 2010
This is the second year the School of Languages is invited to be part of the Poetry Contest sponsored by Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil. We were very pleased to be once again part of this competition and proud of our students.
Brenda won 1st. place with her unique and delicate performance of the poems. She won a mini laptop. Congratulations to her from the staff of the School of Languages. (English Division).
This year we had participants, Brenda Gutierrez from Fourth Course French-English with the poems "Because I could not stop for death" by Emily Dickinson and "The Road not taken by Robert Frost and contestant Juan Villamar from 1st. Course English-Italian with the poem "The Negro Speaks of Rivers" by Langhston Hughes.

I am also very proud of Juan Villamar (left photo), he is an outstanding student and as soon as I posted the information about the contest, he eagerly asked me to be part of it.
He did an extraordinary performance and put all his strength and effort. He won 4th position. My deepest congratulations to both!.
PRIMER LUGAR EN EL CONCURSO DE ORATORIA DE AUTORES LITERARIOS NORTEAMERICANOS
Este es el segundo año que la Escuela de Lenguas y Linguistica tiene el agrado y el orgullo de participar en el Concurso de Oratoria que organizada la Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil, a través de su Escuela de Idiomas. Nuestros estudiantes Brenda Gutierrez de Cuarto Curso y Juan Villamar de Primer Curso (idioma Inglés), participaron con poemas de Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost y Langston Hughes. Su participación y dedicación en el aprendizaje, en la elocuencia vibrante de sus sentimientos los hicieron acreedores a Brenda el Primer Lugar y a Juan el cuarto lugar.
La Escuela de Lenguas y Linguisticas, a través del Depto. de Inglés se enorgullece una vez más de sus estudiantes, de su perseverancia, constancia y deseos de triunfar.
